What a virtual CIO does
A vCIO sits at the intersection of business goals and technology decisions. They own the IT roadmap, present to ownership and boards, run vendor negotiations, and make sure your tech spend is going to the right places. We provide this as part of our managed services engagements or as a standalone engagement for companies with internal IT staff.
Technology roadmap
We document where you are today — hardware ages, license expirations, infrastructure risks — and build a 12- to 36-month plan with budget estimates attached. No more surprise capital expenses. Ownership knows what's coming and can plan for it.
Vendor management
ISPs, phone systems, line-of-business software vendors, cloud providers. We represent you in contract negotiations, hold vendors accountable to SLAs, and manage the relationships so you don't have to become an IT expert to evaluate a renewal.

Do I need a vCIO or just managed IT?
Managed IT handles daily operations. A vCIO handles strategy — the decisions about what to build, replace, spend on, or defer. Small businesses often start with managed IT and add vCIO services once they scale up or face a major infrastructure decision.
Can we engage you just for a specific project?
Yes. Project-based consulting engagements are available for office moves, infrastructure audits, merger/acquisition IT assessments, or any defined scope. We scope it by the project and deliver a fixed-price proposal.
What's included in a quarterly business review?
Current environment health summary, any security or compliance risks, upcoming hardware or license decisions, budget projections for the next 12 months, and a review of any open projects or planned changes.
We already have an internal IT person — where does vCIO fit?
The IT coordinator handles day-to-day tickets. The vCIO handles decisions that need executive-level judgment: negotiating contracts, recommending infrastructure architecture, planning a new office, or presenting technology risk to the board. Most internal IT staff welcome having that layer above them.
